5-MeO-DMT (5-Methoxy-N,N-dimethyltryptamine)
Potent tryptamine psychedelic found in Bufo alvarius toad venom and various plants. Distinguished from DMT by its primary 5-HT1A agonism (DMT is primarily 5-HT2A). Produces intense mystical/ego-dissolution experiences with a very short duration (15-30 min smoked). Rapid onset, rapid offset — one of the shortest-acting classical psychedelics. MAO-A substrate; orally inactive without MAOI co-administration. Risk of aspiration from vomiting during acute intoxication — sitter and recovery position essential.
