Lurasidone (Latuda)
Benzisothiazol atypical antipsychotic with high affinity for D2, 5-HT2A, and 5-HT7 receptors and moderate alpha-2c antagonism. Uniquely low affinity for H1 and 5-HT2C receptors, resulting in minimal weight gain and metabolic effects compared to other atypicals. Must be taken with food (≥350 calories) — bioavailability doubles with food. Metabolized by CYP3A4; contraindicated with strong 3A4 inhibitors/inducers.
