Nattokinase
Fibrinolytic serine protease enzyme derived from natto (fermented soybeans, Bacillus subtilis var. natto). Directly degrades fibrin and enhances endogenous fibrinolysis by converting plasminogen to plasmin and inhibiting PAI-1. Reduces blood viscosity, D-dimer levels, and may modestly lower blood pressure. Survives GI transit and is absorbed intact. Measured in fibrinolytic units (FU). Contraindicated with anticoagulants. Half-life represents fibrinolytic activity duration.
