Endogenous Peptide

Family of KISS1-derived neuropeptides that activate KISS1R and stimulate the reproductive axis. Human infusion studies show acute endocrine effects, but clinical fertility applications remain specialized and fragment-specific.

Research behind this entry

  1. Kisspeptin-54 stimulates the hypothalamic-pituitary gonadal axis in human males Dhillo WS, Chaudhri OB, Patterson M, Thompson EL, Murphy KG, Badman MK, McGowan BM, Amber V, Patel S, Ghatei MA, Bloom SR · Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, 2005 DOI

Double-blind crossover study in six men found that a 90-minute KP-54 infusion acutely increased LH, FSH, and testosterone. The measured KP-54 half-life was about 28 minutes; those data do not apply to KP-10.
