Amoxicillin/Clavulanate (Augmentin)
Fixed-dose combination of amoxicillin with the beta-lactamase inhibitor clavulanic acid, extending activity to beta-lactamase-producing organisms including H. influenzae, M. catarrhalis, and S. aureus. Clavulanate itself has a half-life of ~1 hour and negligible antibacterial activity. GI side effects (diarrhea) primarily from clavulanate.
